Joshua is fascinated by how Jesus came to be known as God. His main area of study is within the first two centuries of the church and the ways in which New Testament authors and the church fathers came to understand and describe the economic and immanent Trinity. Also of interest is how the church first formed its identity as Christian and its relationship to second temple Judaism.
For the past few months, Joshua has been working with Iris ministries in Mozambique in order to support local pastors and missionaries to help rebuild communities ravaged by war. When not sequestered in the library, Joshua can be found outside. Whether rock climbing, mountain biking, or just enjoying the ocean breeze, he believes all moments spent outside are those in communion with his Creator.
